about
This song wasn't going to be included on the Monsters In Rome album originally because of some copyright issues (some bullshit stuff really, I wrote the friggin' thing, so I still can't believe there was trouble with it). Anyway, I've cleared up all that and now it is here, on the album, under a Creative Commons Attribution Share Alike license, mind you! As is the rest of the album BTW!
lyrics
take me skyline
to the country in the rain
through the muddy fields
to the house i've grown up in
somewhere in the dusk
her voice still cries my name yeah

take me snowflake
to the falters of the hills
the season it says nothing
so i take it all it feels
you see out there is dark
there's nowhere you're going today no way

cos you see outside
a full moon's trial
takes me down slow

show me lover
what it is you want to feel tonight
i don't know what i'm doing
so i'll try to get it right
turn over love
now it is your turn to shine not mine

caged in dark
your heart denies
taking me down slow

forget about the changes
or what life was supposed to be for you
shake it off quietly
look at all the young boys
breaking all the car windows with spark plugs
it's a shame
they should fly

locked and tied
police cars
taking them down slow

Indie Folker is very much like Iron & Wine without the iron or Noah And The Whale without the whale… In plain: music ... more inspired by the folkers and anti-folkers, or in a broader spectrum: indie folk, homemade acoustic pop or just plain old folk rock music from the bird house. Drawing comparison to such imaginary singers and performers such as: Tom Waits on high heels, a more scrupulous and much young less
